This Privacy Policy explains what Plantro ("we", "us", "our") does — and does not do — with your information when you use the Plantro app (the "App"). We built the app to be privacy-first.
You can use the app without creating an account. We do not ask for your name, email address, phone number, or social media accounts to use the app.
Your garden — the plants you add, their nicknames, photos, notes, diary entries, and care schedules — is stored locally on your device. We do not upload or store your garden on our servers. You can export or delete it at any time from the app's Settings.
When you ask the app to identify a plant or assess its health, the photo you choose is sent to our AI provider only to generate plant identification and care guidance. We do not store your plant photos on our servers after processing — they are handled in memory and discarded immediately after the result is returned. We do not use your photos to train AI models, and we never sell them.
To analyze your photo and questions, we send them to third-party AI providers solely to generate the requested result. Our primary provider is Google (Gemini API); we may use Anthropic (Claude) as a fallback. These providers process the input transiently to return the result. See their privacy practices: Google Gemini API and Anthropic.
To run the service, prevent abuse, and manage subscriptions, our servers store a small amount of non-personal data: an anonymous install identifier; a device-integrity token (Apple App Attest / DeviceCheck) used to prevent abuse and enforce the free tier; usage counts needed to apply limits; and your subscription status from Apple (e.g. active/expired, product, renewal or expiry dates). This data is not linked to your real-world identity and excludes your name, email, and photos.
We do not collect your location, contacts, social media data, or browsing history. We do not use third-party advertising SDKs, and we do not track you across other apps or websites. We use Google Analytics for Firebase to understand in-app usage in aggregate.
Subscriptions and consult packs are processed by Apple. We verify your purchase status with Apple's servers and never see or store your full payment details.
Camera and photo-library access are used only to let you take or choose a plant photo. Notification permission, if granted, is used only to send the watering and care reminders you set up. You can manage these permissions in iOS Settings.
The app is intended for general audiences. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children, and no account or personal data is required to use the app. If you believe a child has provided us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
Photos are not retained — they are processed in memory and discarded immediately. The limited non-personal data above is kept only as long as needed to provide the service and meet legal obligations.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your data. Because we do not hold data that identifies you personally, most requests relate to your subscription or device records. Email us and we will help.
Your data may be processed on servers located outside your country of residence. We take steps to ensure it is protected under applicable data-protection laws.
We may update this Policy; significant changes will be noted in the app. Questions? Email [email protected].
